Diethanol Isopropanolamine (DEIPA) is an organic alcohol amine compound with the chemical formula C₇H₁₇NO₃, which is formed by combining an isopropanolamine group with two ethanol groups. It is colourless to light yellow transparent viscous liquid at room temperature, slightly ammonia smell, easily soluble in water and most organic solvents. Its CAS number is 6712-98-7, and it is mainly prepared by the condensation reaction between isopropanolamine and ethylene oxide.
DEIPA has the versatility of alcohol-amine compounds, and because of its unique molecular structure (containing an isopropanol group and two ethanol groups), it has outstanding performance in dispersibility, chelating and corrosion inhibition, and it is widely used in the fields of building materials, chemical industry and metal processing.
